Silver Star Communications was recently (August 20th, 2008) "Verified" and "Certified" as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business by the Center for Veterans Enterprises; a division of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Successful completion of the verification process, list Silver Star Communications, LLC in the VetBiz.gov database as a “Verified” Service Disabled Owned Small Business. This database is shared by all Federal Agencies, Authorities and Commissions as preferred, verified and certified business's for contracting opportunities with the federal government. This verification also allows eligibility to participate in the “Veterans First Contracting Program” for direct opportunities with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Starting January 1 st , 2009, companies or individuals claiming Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business status will be required to be verified to compete and award of a federal contract.

 

 

About the Verification Program:

This verification program currently is voluntary and initiated after completion and submittal of VA Form 0877 by the Service Disabled Veteran Owner to the Department of Veterans Affairs. An extensive background investigation is conducted for validation of active duty, honorable discharge and a disability rating by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Other areas are investigated such as disbarment, criminal history, bankruptcy, judgments, liens, litigations or other negative impacts affecting the individual or company. Additional aspects of the business are validated such as state registration/licensing, Employee Identification Number, Dun & Bradstreet registration, Central Contracting Registration, Vet Biz Registration and many other federally mandated filings and representations.
